In 1922, Tallers Roca was established, initially dedicated to treating wood, with headquarters on the Rambla del Passeig de Vic, Spain.
Between 1950 and 1960, the company manufactured and marketed domestic and industrial washers, tumble dryers, irons, dishwashers, fryers, and refrigerators; during this time, Tallers Roca obtained several patents for washing machines and registered the DOMUS brand.
DOMUS was the first and only brand in Spain manufacturing washing and spinning machines, highlighting its metal body and low energy consumption.
At the beginning of the nineties, the focus was the marketing of washers and dryers; in 1994, Tallers Roca introduced the frequency inverter for industrial washing machines in Europe, successfully merging two motors into one. During this decade, international expansion began.
In 2003, the company moved to Sant Julià de Vilatorta, investing in machinery and human capital and moving from a workshop to a 75,000 ft² factory.
In 2015, the company changed its name to Onnera Laundry Barcelona, and in 2016 and 2020, two new factory expansions took place, reaching 150,700 ft².
Exports have gone from 8% of the total volume in 2000 to 64% in 2021.
Since 1963, it has gone from 47 employees to 172.
The number of women working in Onnera Laundry has tripled since 1999.
The manufacture of washing machines has gone from 330 units in 1963 to an estimated 8,000 units this year.
